About Me

I’m Viren Shastri, and I am focused on acquiring and operating a small business. I grew up surrounded by high-integrity business operators. This inspired me to pursue my own path in the small business world and get involved in my community.

It is my priority to honor and build upon the legacy of an acquired business. This includes treating customers with appreciation, vendors with respect, and employees with dignity.

I have spent my professional career in the gold mining industry and have been fortunate to learn and lead in diverse environments. These range from operating heavy equipment in the Russian Arctic, managing critical labor union negotiations in West Africa, and directly supporting C-suite executives for a major public company. My career has granted me a strong operational, financial, and people-management background which I am eager to take to a small business.

I hold an Engineering degree from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. My professional career has been spent with Kinross Gold and RBC Capital Markets.

Away from work, my partner Ivneet and I love to exercise, try new restaurants, and make ice cream. I am someone who goes all-in on the things I’m passionate about—whether it’s being a dedicated marathon runner, an active Movember fundraiser, or pizza enthusiast.
